Emily Irene VanCamp was originally looking to become a dancer. However, after going to Katie's set in the Ladies Room, she became more interested in acting. The actress began taking acting classes and simultaneously landed roles as a guest on a TV show from her home country of Canada. The TV shows she starred in include Do You scared to be in the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp achieved a major career break after he was selected to play the role of regular Sam Dolan in WB's horror mystery series Glory Days. Although the show received positive reviews, this show's poor ratings unfortunately caused it to be canceled after only nine episodes. In reality, she was swift in securing another role as Amy Abbott on Everwood. It was for this role that she was nominated by the Young Artist Award, and she also won four Teen Choice Awards.
